You Were Never Meant to Heal Alone
When I wrote The Light After, it was not because I had all the answers. It was my own healing journey.
I was writing to survive while learning how to live again.
I knew what it felt like to sit in the dark, to cry out in the night and believe no one could see me.
I created it for the moments when healing feels too heavy to carry by yourself.
Then came the Circle of Light, a gentle reminder that our stories are not separate,
but reflections of each other’s courage.
I created The Circle of Wisdom, a safe and quiet space for those stories,
for understanding, and for words that help us heal.
The truth that healing is not a destination. But a relationship.
A relationship with your body.
A relationship with your voice.
A relationship with the parts of you that were silenced, abandoned,
or taught to disappear.
For a long time many of us learned to survive alone.
We became strong alone. We processed alone. We cried alone.
We rebuilt ourselves alone.
But strength that is built in isolation often still carries the echo of pain.
The Light After is an invitation to do something different.
Not to be rescued.
Not to be fixed.
Not to be told what to do.
But to be witnessed.
There is something profoundly healing about being seen without having to explain
why you are the way you are.
There is something powerful about sitting in a space where your story does not need to be justified to be valid.
This is what the light does.
It does not force growth. It does not rush transformation. It simply makes it safe
for you to exist again.
And from that safety everything begins.
Your breath softens.
Your body unclenches.
Your thoughts become quieter.
Your heart begins to trust that it is allowed to open at its own pace.
You do not have to arrive as the healed version of yourself to belong here.
You belong while you are still shaking.
You belong while you are still grieving.
You belong while you are still learning how to choose yourself.
The Light After is about presence. Presence with your pain. Presence with your truth.
Presence with the woman you are becoming even on the days you cannot feel her yet.
If you are here reading these words, you are already part of the circle.
Not because you are healed, but because you are willing.
Willing to stay.
Willing to feel.
Willing to return to yourself again and again.
And that willingness is where the light begins.
